Handshake Havoc

A social and interactive handshake party game

This project was developed as part of the course II1305 Project in Information and Communication Technology at KTH

About the game

Handshake havoc is a multiplayer party game where players have to shake hands with the correct glove in a specific timeframe.

Our game can be played by up to 5 players. Each player wears a pair of our Handshake havoc gloves. A round consists of a countdown followed by each glove being assigned a colour. The players then have to find someone with the same colour as their own glove and then shake hands with that player. If they manage to shake hands with the correct player within the time limit they win that round. As the game progresses the rounds get shorter and tricks will be used to try and fool the players.

This makes for a challenging and fun experience that engages the entire group.

Game Tutorial

Here is a quick tutorial of how you play Handshake Havoc, and what the different colours on the gloves may indicate.

1. Starting the gloves

Flip the switch to turn on your gloves! Use as many as you'd like, up to 5 pairs.

4. Game begins!

The game starts with all lights scrambling in different colours, this lightshow marks the beginning of each round.

2. Connecting

When the gloves are trying to connect, the light may turn yellow. Please be patient!

5. Shake hands, now!

After the lightshow, each player will be assigned a colour. Find the glove with the same colour and shake hands!

3. Connected

Once the lights turn blue, your gloves are connected and the game begins after 30s.

6. Game over?

If you manage to shake hands (white lights), you pass the round, and you're back at step 4. If not (red lights), you lose a life! After three losses, the game is over.
